Sheryl Christensen Roberts

1936 ~ 2016

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Wanda Sheryl Christensen Roberts passed through the unseen veil Friday morning and was reunited with her many loved ones on the other side. Sheryl was born in Idaho Falls, ID to Wilbur and Wanda Hancey Christensen. She grew up in Garfield, Utah and had very fond memories of her childhood there.
Sheryl has four siblings, Margo Wadsworth (Russ), Jerry Christensen (Karen), Nila Sedelle (Leroy), and Richard Christensen (Karen). She loved her brothers and sisters dearly and remained close to them all throughout her life. Sheryl married Gene Jolley Roberts in 1952 and they had
five children together, Randy (Sandy), Gordon (Christine), Guy (Jacque), Lynn (Annette) and Lisa. Gene and Sheryl would later divorce.

Sheryl started out in housekeeping at Valley West Hospital and worked her way up to X-Ray Technician, she would later put herself through school to become certified in her field. She worked a second job as a waitress and took in ironing to support her young family. She loved spending time with her family, and her eyes would light up whenever they would visit. Decorating for the holidays was always enjoyable for her, family gatherings were loud, fun, full
of love and laughter. Sheryl, almost single handedly managed to raise her children to be strong, hardworking, caring and compassionate. I was blessed many years ago to marry into this beautiful family and I've watched as this legacy has been passed down through the generations. Lisa moved in with her mother several years ago and has lovingly cared for her ever since. Lynn, Guy, Gordy and Randy were always there for her when she needed them.

Sheryl will be remembered by her children, her 20 grandchildren and her 28 great grandchildren
as a woman who persevered through life's many challenges with strength and humor. She was a member of the LDS church and served in many callings over the years. Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Wanda Christensen; her sister, Margo Wadsworth; and her brother, Jerry Christensen.

Funeral Services will be held 12 noon Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Lake Ridge 9th ward, 7825 West Sharon Dr. (3340 South), Magna. Viewings will be held at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm., and Thursday prior to the service from 11:00 to 11:45 at the church.
