Shirlene Hutchinson Caskinette

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend passed away peacefully in her own home on July 18, 2010.  Shirlene was born May 7, 1932 in Kanosh, Utah to Urvey Margaret Prows and Orson Flynn Hutchinson.  Shirlene was the youngest of eight children.  She graduated from Millard High School in 1950, and shortly after she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah.  In 1957 she married Richard Joesph Caskinette, later divorced.

Shirlene spent 25 years working for Litton Guidance Control Systems, in a management and training capacity.  She was an awesome teacher and people person.  She loved to dance and share stories of her fun times as a young woman. She was very active and fun loving for as many years as her body let her be.  Her great sense of humor was appreciated by all.   Shirlene loved to be surrounded by extended family and friends and was known for trying to feed everyone that came to visit.   She always had a listening ear and knew how to be a true friend.   Shirlene was a proud, independent, and self sufficient woman that had a difficult time asking help from anyone.   She accomplished amazing things with limited resources.

Shirlene is survived by her two loving children: Kaylynn Caskinette Roddenberry and Lincoln Caskinette (Michelle Nelson); her adored grandchildren: Thomas Kelly, Tyler Kelly, Crystal Roddenberry and Alijah Caskinette; her only surviving sibling Elva Wigginton (RoyLee) and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Kenneth Hutchinson (Wilma), Karl Hutchinson (Helen), Broze Hutchinson (Beth), Burt Hutchinson (Betty), Rex Hutchinson and sister Joy Anderson (Garn).

The family would like to thank Vistacare Hospice and her gracious neighbors.

Viewing will be held at 10 - 10:45 am, Thursday July 22, 2010 with services following at 11:00 a.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, Utah.  Interment: Kanosh, cemetery
