Shirley Moffitt

Our loving, patient, beautiful mother and our father’s beloved wife, Shirley Joan Moffitt, born June 3, 1938 to Edward Thompson and Florence Day Thompson, was called home in the night by our Heavenly Father on Jan 13, 2024. Shirley was blessed with a kind heart, a witty personality, and an excellent memory—she could bake with no measurements, recall every moment, and make us laugh, humble, grateful, and wise with a true story and a quote from the bible. No measure of time could fade our memory of the woman that made the best pumpkin pie and every day possible. We love you Mom forever and always, Amen.

Shirley was one of 13 children that grew up in Ogden, Utah. Shirley married Richard Moffitt, together they had and raised five children in West Valley City, Utah: Trudy Shea, Jon Badger, Richard (Lisa) Moffitt, DeLayna Moffitt, and Julie (David) (Christopher) (Marvin) Moffitt. Together, Shirley and Richard also had seven grandchildren: (Isaac), Brickey, Richard, Angel, Solitude, Andrew, and Ford, and one great grandchild, Aspen. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Florence, her husband Richard, her son Jon, and her grandchild (Isaac). Amen.
