Shirley Scott

November 15, 1950 — January 26, 2020

Shirley Ann Scott November 15, 1950 – January 26, 2020.  Shirley was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 15, 1950 to Thurman and Eileen Underwood. Shirley was one of seven children. She enjoyed playing bingo with her sisters and spending time with them at large family gatherings. She had three children, eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She enjoyed spoiling them and spending time with them growing up. Shirley graduated from Westminster Collage and made a career in the mental health industry.  She wanted to understand people’s behavior and enjoyed being able to help others with their innermost struggles. Shirley loved animals especially dogs. She was also very creative and enjoyed painting and decorating. Her home décor always included a variety of plants and handmade items. Shirley had a strong faith that helped her through many difficult times.  Shirley is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, one brother, two sisters and one grandchild. She leaves behind two sons, David Storrs and Danny Scott, one daughter, Cherri Waddell, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Shirley had a great heart and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The Broken Chain

We little knew that morning

That God was going to call your name.

In life we loved you dearly,

In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,

You did not go alone;

For part of us went with you,

The day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories,

Your love is still our guide;

And though we cannot see you,

Your always by our side.

Our family chain is broken,

And nothing seems the same;

But as God calls us one by one,

The chain will link again.
