Steve Trujillo, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Steve’s warmth, generosity, and unforgettable smile touched the lives of all who knew him. Once you met Steve, you were his friend for life. He was truly everyone’s hero.
Born and raised in Magna, Steve graduated from Cyprus High School in 1970. Two years later, he married the love of his life, Cindy Peterson, beginning a partnership filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising their family and creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Steve was a hardworking man who could usually fix anything. He was always willing to help out anyone in need, no matter the time or place. His hands were rarely still, and his heart was always open. His work ethic and generosity set an example for all who knew him.
Steve spent many dedicated years working for Consolidated Freightway and ABF before retiring. Never one to sit still for long, Steve followed his passion and opened Casa Del Rey in Grantsville, where he served great food and made even greater friendships for 20 wonderful years. After closing the restaurant, Steve embraced retirement as a snowbird in Mesquite, always seeking sunshine and good times. As he often said, “The more sun, the better!” Steve also enjoyed horse racing, finding excitement and fun in the sport throughout his life.
One of Steve’s greatest joys was sharing his love of classic cars with Cindy, especially the 1955 Chevy he bought for her. Together, they enjoyed attending car shows, meeting new friends, and making lasting memories.
Steve’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his loving wife Cindy; his children Todd, Jamie (Aaron), and Trent (TJ) (Tiffany); and his cherished grandchildren Elias (Morgan), Abby (Weston), Ryker, Presley, and Brogan, who he loved with all his heart. He is also survived by his sisters Pompy (Veronica) and Dora, and his brothers Johnny, Larry, Deven, and Pat. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Christerna, his sister Marsha, and his brother Anthony.
Steve’s legacy of kindness, loyalty, hard work, and helpfulness will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
