Terry G. Ward passed away Monday evening, January 23, after suffering a stroke four days earlier.
Terry was born in St. George, Utah on November 18, 1937. He grew up on the family dairy farm. After graduating from high school, he attended Weber State College for two years. After he returned home from college, his parents encouraged him to serve a mission. He was called to serve in the Swiss Austrian Mission. After his mission, he transferred to Utah State University along with his wife, Sandra whom he met at Dixie College. Terry and Sandra graduated from Utah State University in June of 1963. Terry obtained a teaching position at Cyprus high school. The family lived in Murray, Utah for four years and then bought a home close to his work in Magna, Utah. He taught for 30 years and then devoted his time to his finished carpentry business. He was very active in the church and held many leadership positions including scout master, bishop, high councilor, gospel doctrine teacher, and counselor in the Magna East stake presidency for ten years.
He was the father of five daughters, Christine Russell, Leslie Holmgren, Sherrie Ward, Wendy Gale, and Jennifer Kenner. He is also survived by his wife, Sandra; 21 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren children. He is preceded in death by an infant daughter and by his beloved daughter, Sherrie Lynn.
He was dearly loved by his wife, his posterity and the many people he served during his lifetime. He will be missed!
A visitation will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. with funeral services at 12 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. Magna Main St. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 30th at 1 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 W. 4100 S. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
