VICKEY COWDELL PERRY BENNETT

1934 ~ 2021

She was known as Mom, Grandma, Honey or hey you, if you needed anything. She was always willing to help, which led her to her long time career choice at Wayman Chiropractors where she helped patients with pain relief, and always brought joy to those around her.

Vickey, passed away on September 8, 2021 just before her 87th birthday. She was born on Sept 20,1934 to Arvil Lamont Cowdell & Mary "Star" Asthore Pierson. She is is the eldest of three children. Looked up to by her sister, Pam Cowdell and brother, Lamont Wright.

She married Steven L Perry in at the age of 17. They had four children together, Linda Jean Berry, William "Bill" Steven Perry, ChrisAnn Perry and Sharon Lee Perry.

She later married Harvey Bennett and claimed three more children as her own, Gina Justice, Tommy Bennett and Julee Lisonbee.

Vickey loved spending time with her family, traveling, crafting, and gardening. Among her favorites were her roses and her peaceful water fountain. She enjoyed playing Yatzee and putting puzzles together with her husband, Harvey.

Vickey has been a good mother, wife, friend and much more. Even through her life struggles, she has been a source of resiliency, love, and light. Vickey loved unconditionally, with her whole heart, she was kind, thoughtful and loyal. She will be missed dearly by all who have known her.

Vickey has resided at St. Joseph’s Villa for the last three years. Where she has formed many beautiful friendships. Vilate Stewart, in particular has been a great source of love, friendship and comfort.

Vickey has been blessed with fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She also has several cousins, nieces and nephews that love her dearly.

She is preceded in death by mother, Star; father, Arvil; daughter, Linda; husband, Harvey; 1st husband, Steven; and lifelong best friend, Alex.

Thank you, to the staff at St. Joseph’s for all the love, support and care that you have shown Vickey. We appreciate all your efforts to keep our loved one happy and comfortable.
