Dixine Clara Hansen

December 17th, 1935 - December 7th, 2019

Dixine Clara Hansen, of Magna, Utah, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on December 7th, 2019. She had endured a long battle with dementia and rheumatoid arthritis.

She leaves behind her sweetheart of 31 years, David Leon Hansen, who was her constant, loving caregiver over the past 15 months. They were united in marriage on May 28th, 1988, in Park City, Utah.

Dixine was born in Murray, Utah, on December 17th, 1935 to Marjorie Stilovitch and Richard Clarence Mace. She graduated from Murray High School, in Murray, Utah.

As a young adult she worked as a waitress in Murray, Utah. There she met her first husband Gaylen Garfield. They moved to Magna, Utah and had two sons together, Larry Garfield (Ivins, Utah) and Russell Garfield (American Fork, Utah). They were later divorced and Gaylen passed away in 1993.

In her adulthood, she was employed as a secretary, first at Cyprus High School, and then for many years at Hercules Aerospace in Magna, Utah.

Dixine was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents (who helped raise Dixine), Henry and Olive Anderson; her step mom, Hilda Mace; her sister, Margie Brown; her brothers, Randy Mace, Bill Mace and Jimmy Mace.

In addition to her sons and her loving husband, she leaves behind her step daughters, Heidi Magann (Bob), West Valley City, Utah, and Amy Amini (Rob), Columbus, Indiana; 7 grandchildren; her sisters, Norma Mace, Murray, Utah and Donna (Glen) Losee, Riverton, Utah; her brothers, Richard Mace, Murray, Utah, Don Mace (Mildred), West Jordan, Utah, Gary Mace (Vangy), Murray, Utah; nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. Dixine also leaves behind her very dear friend and next-door neighbor of 48 years, Rose Snelson.

Dixine was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints and sang in her ward choir during the latter part of the 1980’s. She had a very special talent of crocheting beautiful blankets and table runners. She also enjoyed embroidery, baking (especially at Christmastime) and also canning. She loved to collect dolls and knick knacks. She enjoyed spending time with family at their cabin in the mountains, snowmobiling and camping. She also enjoyed traveling to Southern Utah and spending time seasonally at their mobile home in St. George, Utah.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Inspiration Home Health and Hospice for their help in the care of Dixine.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27th, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Pleasant Green 4th Ward, building located at 3610 S. 8400 W., Magna, Utah. There will be a viewing preceding services at 10:00-10:45 AM.
