Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away Sunday March 15, 2020 at the age of 89 at the Beehive Home Herriman Utah.
Veyonne was born in Boise, Idaho July 11, 1930 to Einar (Mike) and Wanda B. Campbell. She grew up in Idaho and graduated from Nampa High School. After graduation she visited her Aunt Ione Herzog in Magna Utah where she met her future husband James Ronald Dixon. They were married in the Logan Temple Sept. 1, 1950. They resided all their married life in Magna.
VeYonne, as she was known by all who knew her, was a beautiful, kind, loving woman always ready to help those in need. She had a special bond with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband Ronald of 69 years. They were blessed with five daughters and one son. Debra Kay Knudsen Christensen (deceased), Janice (John) Morgan, Brent Dixon, Linda (Kim) Hood, Nancy (Shawn) Bennett and Donnie (Wayne) Christensen. They are the grandparents of 21 and great grandparents of 37.
VeYonne was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served diligently in many positions of leadership. She and her sweetheart served a mission together in Jacksonville Florida. She also served in the Jordan River and Salt Lake Temples for 15 years. She also served as scribe to her husband who was Stake Patriarch for 40 years.
VeYonne enjoyed immensely spending time at their cabin in Midway and condo in St. George. They enjoyed playing golf and camping with family.
She looked forward to hosting Relief Society retreats at the cabin for many years where many attendees laughed out loud and many lasting memories were made.
Mom was an avid reader and loved to play games with her family. She loved to crochet, knit and other handcrafts. She enjoyed family history and doing temple work.
She loved anything chocolate, root beer and most any ice-cream.
She will be missed by her family, friends and neighbors.
Mom didn’t walk in Dad’s shadow, she walked beside him as his best friend and helpmeet.
We want to thank the employees of the Beehive Home and the Canyon Hospice who took loving care of mom during her short stay.
Because of the virus concerns a graveside service will be held Saturday March 21, 2020 at Valley View Memorial Park for immediate family and a memorial service will be held at a future date.
